Marla Korr
Marla Korr earned a BA and a MFA at Brooklyn College, where she studied with Philip Pearlstein, Lennart Anderson, and Jimmy Ernst. She has also studied at Stevenson Academy of Traditional Painting and New York Academy of Art. Marla is a member of the National Artists League and Marine Artists of America. Her work has been exhibited at numerous galleries, including National Arts Club, Gramercy Park, New York City, The Bergen Museum of Art and Science, New Jersey, and the Edgartown Art Gallery, Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.
In addition to her still lifes and figure painting, Korr is exploring the rich landscapes of the Hudson River Valley, as well as the marine images and changing atmosphere of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. Being influenced by both Classical Realism and Impressionism, her paintings combine a range of feelings with technical excellence and craftsmanship.
