Thomas Kegler is an established painter and art instructor known for his traditional oil paintings of landscapes, still lifes, and figures. Kegler works in oil paint on linen in the traditional realism style and influence of the Old Masters, the Hudson River School, the French Barbizon, the Tonalists, and the Luminists.

Kegler studied art at the State University College at Buffalo, and graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design in 1993, and later received an MS in Art Education. He is a self-taught painter of the style and techniques of the Old Masters, and furthered his studies with the Classical Realist painter Jacob Collins at the Hudson River School of Landscape in Hunter, NY.

He holds the title of Master Roycroft Renaissance Artisan, a designation of the Roycrofters-at-Large Association (RALA) of East Aurora, NY. He has participated in numerous group and solo gallery shows nationally and locally.

Kegler was commissioned to create paintings for the album cover and interior artwork for Ani DiFranco’s record album, Canon. He received the Dumond Memorial Award at the Hudson Valley Art Association juried 77th National Exhibition in Old Lyme, CT.
